STORE COLLEAGUE, HOBBYCRAFT

As a Store Colleague at Hobbycraft, I provide exceptional customer service, offering tailored advice on crafting techniques and product selection while maintaining a well- organised and welcoming store environment. I also lead craft workshops in various disciplines, including painting, crocheting, and papercraft, preparing materials and guiding participants to create an engaging and educational experience. This role has strengthened my communication and teaching skills, and I have also contributed to the store’s social media presence by completing TikTok training and assisting with content creation.

Oct 2022 – May 2023

HEAD OF PR AND MARKETING, NAPIER PHOTO

I was the leader of the PR and Marketing team for Napier Photo, a photographic collective from Edinburgh Napier University. I oversaw all personal relations and marketing material that was put out for Napier Photo’s exhibition at Free Range in London. I also designed the marketing materials that were used on the social media accounts and in public spaces on the lead up to the exhibition.

PHOTOGRAPHER PLACEMENT, BUCK AND BIRCH

I took photographs for their advertising and commercial needs, both in a studio and in outdoor locations. I edited and produced images for use in their advertising.

JULY 2019

STUDIO ASSISTANT, CAROLINE ANNE PHOTOGRAPHY

In this position, I prepared the studio for shoots. I also did administrative work such as phoning customers to organise picking up their orders. An important aspect of my work was to ensure they had a good customer experience. I also organised social media posts and advertisements for the studio.

 

VOLUNTEERING

CUB LEADER, 7TH, PAISLEY JNI SCOUT GROUP

In this role, I am responsible for planning, organising, and delivering engaging activities for our indoor programme and outdoor events. I work closely with other Cub Pack leaders to develop and execute structured programs that promote learning, teamwork, and personal development among young members. This role has strengthened my teamwork, leadership, and organisational skills, as well as my ability to adapt activities to different age groups and interests.

PR and Communication Assistant, 7TH PAISLEY JNI SCOUT GROUP

Responsible for writing and publishing a monthly newsletter, keeping members and parents informed about upcoming events, achievements, and key updates. Manage the group's social media presence, creating engaging content to promote activities and community involvement. Support public relations and communications efforts, ensuring clear and effective messaging across various platforms. This role has strengthened my writing, digital marketing, and organisational skills, as well as my ability to engage with different audiences.

Jan 2025 - July 2027

Leadership Team, West Region, Peru Expedition

I am currently volunteering as part of a leadership team organising an expedition to Peru for Explorers and Networkers, set for July 2027. My role involves assisting with the selection process and training weekends, ensuring participants are well-prepared for the challenges and experiences ahead. This opportunity allows me to develop leadership, teamwork, and expedition planning skills while supporting young people in their personal growth and adventure.

I am passionate about creativity and community involvement, I have been part of the scouting community for 17 years, progressing from Cub to adult leader and participating in international camps in Scotland, Poland, and an upcoming expedition to Peru in 2027. My photography has been exhibited in Edinburgh and London, with work also featured on the Buck and Birch website. Alongside scouting and photography, I enjoy crafting in various forms, including painting, baking, and crocheting, and love running craft workshops for Cubs to inspire creativity in young people.
