I am Katie Buttar, a driven individual with a passion for communicating through the medium of photography. I have developed a keen interest in using photography in marketing and advertising during my studies for a BA (Hons) in Photography at Napier University and I aspire to build a career in this area. I am looking for opportunities to develop my creative and technical experience, and to create visually captivating campaigns that resonate with audiences, tell compelling stories, and generate tangible results for clients and brands.

CUB LEADER, 7TH, PAISLEY JNI SCOUT GROUP
In this role I am expected to plan out activities for our programmed nights. I am also in charge of
executing these programmed nights successfully.

STUDIO ASSISTANT, CAROLINE ANNE PHOTOGRAPHY
In this position as a studio assistant, I organised the studio for shoots. I also did some administrative
work such as phoning customers to organise picking up their orders an important aspect of this was to
ensure they had a good customer experience.

SEPT 2018 – NOV 2018
USHER, PAISLEY SHOWCASE CINEMA
I was charged with tasks such as working at the box office selling tickets and helping people to find their
seats as well as keeping a clean and tidy environment for the customers between every film.

Jan 2022 – May 2022
PHOTOGRAPHER PLACEMENT, BUCK AND BIRCH
I was taking Photographs for their advertising and commercial needs, as I was charged with taking
photographs of their products both in a studio and on location. I was also charged of editing and
producing each of the images for them to use for their needs and purposes.

HEAD OF PR AND MARKETING, NAPIER PHOTO
I was the leader of the PR and Marketing team for Napier Photo, a photographic collective from
Edinburgh Napier University. I oversaw all personal relations and marketing material that was put out for
Napier Photo’s exhibition at Free Range. I also designed the marketing materials that were used on the
social media accounts and in public spaces on the lead up to the exhibition.

INTERESTS

I enjoy taking part in scout activities and have been a member of the scouting community for fifteen
years, having been a cub, then scout and explorer scout. I completed my young leader training through
volunteering with a Cub Scout group. I have also taken part in international Scout camps in Scotland and
Poland. I have done many things with my photography such as being exhibited as part of a team in
Edinburgh. I have also had my work added on to the Buck and Birch website to advertise some of their
products.
